Featured Photography

Since the iPhone 5, I have set down the point and shoots, the DSLRs, and the handy cams for photography and video. Your best camera is the one you have with you, and the iPhone has moved from good enough to downright incredible.

Over the years, I have paired the ever more impressive iPhone lenses with accessories (now mostly from Moment) with a handful of powerful editing apps to push what type of images I could create. I fell in love with taking pictures and making art in college (shout out to Professor Aimee Tomaek!), where we shot on film and had an actual darkroom. Now I don’t have to wait to develop my film to see what my photos look like, but I have less time to shoot and process my images.

I am currently shooting on an iPhone 14 Pro in the stock app. I process photos in the Darkroom app. I am a fan of the Focus app (depth of field), Snapseed (retouching), and Pixelmator Photo (ML-driven scaling, retouching). If you have great gear or app recommendations, contact me.

Blooming

My mom and I were exploring a garden full of blooms in Door County, WI in the summer of 2022 and found this beauty. Shot on iPhone 13 Pro, edited in Darkroom.
